This is the supply area in my shop for fiberglass goodies. I
really like working with fiberglass because it's so freeform, almost
like ceramics or woodcarving. The West System Microlight rocks.
I use the milled cotton fiber (flox) for reinforcing corner joints by
just mixing it to a thick jelly consistency with the epoxy. You
always mix the epoxy mixture thoroughly before adding any additives such
as Microlight or cotton. My buddy who is building a Lancair IV-P said the best thing to do with Cab-O-Sil was throw it away...it is definitely a health hazard and should only be used if you have access to a respirator. It will present a further hazard when sanded...so maybe Henry's right... |
